Top 5 Tips for staying fit during the Holidays!
- Don’t be too strict or hard on yourself! I’m a firm believer in this. The Holidays are filled with treats and they should be enjoyed! I try to allow myself some grace during the Holidays to enjoy them- but in moderation.
- If I do splurge, I try to make up for it the next day by eating healthy. Or even at the next meal. For example, last week Darek and I both definitely splurged on Thanksgiving and ate ALL THE THINGS and it was SOO good…and that’s totally fine! However, I tried to make up for it the next day by eating a salad and drinking more water.
- Stay active as a couple! Darek and I love to take walks together or even work out in our basement together. Now that the girls are bigger we can even work out as a family (the girls don’t really work out but they love to be active and do jumping jacks or just run around and play).
- Drink water! This is something I definitely need to work on myself (y’all know I live for a Starbucks drink or a Mcdonald’s coke LOL). I know when I make a point to drink water I feel SO much better and my skin looks better too!
- Buying cute new workout clothes! It sounds silly, but new workout outfit or new shoes (obsessed with these from Finish Line) really does help me feel more motivated to work out!
