I have been loving decorating our new home in Nashville and just in time for my favorite season, fall! I think home decor is a great place to mix some splurge items and super affordable items to really elevate the look you’re going for! For some of my more affordable pieces, I have been loving pieces from Walmart! Every time I have posted photos of our new home, I’ve gotten questions about how to style certain areas like our built ins, so I thought a fun little tutorial would be helpful! I love this gold tray plus it’s all layered with pieces I love all from Walmart! To grab any of these exact pieces from Walmart, just click on the item at the bottom of this post of on each individual photo!
First things first, a tray that is the perfect size for your space is really important! You can add these trays anywhere – built ins, kitchen island, the edge of a desk, even on your bed! After deciding where you want it to go, you’ll need to decide what materials fit best in that area! I chose this gold metal tray with texture to bring out some of the gold fixtures and details in our living room!
Step 1 – Add tray where you plan to display it in your home
Once you’ve found the perfect spot, it’s time to start styling! One piece I always use is a book! Books are timeless, plus they add height and can act as a riser to raise some of your other decor up and create dimension! I also love to include some kind of greenery. I typically prefer something faux so it’s no maintenance but real greenery is always beautiful as well! Some other pieces I like are candles, small bowls, and vases! For the sake of this tray, I added a book, small vase with greenery and a candle! This filled up the space plus left a little to house remotes or anything else we need to set down!
Step 2 – Add your book(s)
Step 3 – Add your greenery & vase
Step 4 – Add a candle
That’s all there is to it! It’s easy to go from blank canvas to a full tray in just four easy steps! Not to mention, not a single piece was over $30! This try fits right in with the rest of my home decor but at such a great price from Walmart! To shop the whole look easily, you can just click on any of the pictures below!
Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post!
