1. Start an earlier bedtime about a week before school starts, this way there are no surprises and the girls are well aware that school is about to start and we need to go to bed earlier and waking up earlier
2. If I can, I try to get up before the girls wake up. I usually set my alarm about 15-20 min before I wake them up that way I have time to scroll through my phone, check emails and make a smoothie so when it’s time to wake the girls up I’m already awake and can focus on helping them get ready for school. Let me emphasize that I DO NOT get ready for my day during this time. LOL, I wish you guys could see me at school drop off bc I literally roll up in my sweats (or gym clothes if I’m going to workout), no makeup, and giant sunglasses everyday- it’s fine. I just mean I like to mentally get ready before they wake up.
3. Reading at night- This is something the girls and I do together every night and it really calms them down and helps them fall asleep quickly and (usually) without too much protest. 😉
4. I lay out the girls outfits the night before. This is something that definitely helps our school mornings run more smoothly because I’m not rummaging through their closets trying to put outfits together in the morning. I just set it aside on their nightstands the night before! I don’t even have to help Brynleigh with. Girl is ALL about fashion and picking out her clothes! Brielle still doesn’t have much of an opinion and will pretty much wear whatever I suggest (which I secretly LOVE) ha
5. Tell them I love them every single morning at school drop-off before they get out of the car. This is something my Mom always did with my siblings and I and it always made me feel so good and helped me have a good start to my day.
I hope these tips help you guys have a smooth transition into the school year with your sweet babes! What are some tips you guys have? I’d love to hear them! I don’t even have to tell y’all that both of our outfits are from Nordstrom! LOL, you already know I’m obsessed with their Kids’ section! I found so many cute things for the girls there while we were school shopping this year! How cute is this “Good Vibes” tee?! I mean, I need it for myself! I’m linking both of our outfits below and on the Liketoknowit app! Thanks for stopping by, Babes! XO
Thanks to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post! As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own!
